Two military personnel have been shot near the White House in Washington, DC. Al Jazeera’s Alan Fisher reports below: West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey has confirmed that the two National Guard members shot earlier on Wednesday near the White House have died from their injuries.

Brian Cole, 30, of Virginia, is suspected of placing the devices ahead of the 2021 Capitol riot, says US Attorney General Pam Bondi.

The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal, was shot moments after the attack and was hospitalized in serious condition.
